URBAN MACHINERY is a firm that manufactures equipment specifically suited to the production of vinyl windows and their product range includes cutting machinery, welders, assembly units and corner cleaning machines. The firm was founded in 1987 in the Canadian city of Waterloo, Ontario. By 1992 the company had expanded so quickly that another manufacturing plant was required in the city of Fredericton, New Brunswick. This was followed by the opening of a major sales and service centre in Cambridge, Ontario as URBAN MACHINERY began to supply customers across North America. In 1996, the firm made a huge step forward by opening a subsidiary in the state of Oregon in the United States, and the factories in Canada were steadily expanded to meet constant demand. By the year 2000, URBAN MACHINERY's window manufacturing machinery was regularly winning industry awards such as the Crystal Achievement Award for the firm's corner cleaning machinery and its automated welding lines. In 2007, after 20 years of operation, URBAN MACHINERY had opened new factories in Canada and Washington State, and had also started an operation in the Texan city of Dallas. With its broad range of assembly and production machinery, the firm can offer clients a full suite of production equipment, allowing them to start production of windows almost immediately after installation. This includes a number of innovative automation solutions, such as automatic screw feed units and automatic screwing machines, which have been making window production cheaper and safer since their introduction. URBAN Memmingen has also focused on developing computer controlled CNC machining centres for corner cutting and welding, providing total flexibility to all of its clients.
